TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am entering my 10th year teaching Northern Virginia. My first five years were spent in 3rd grade, and these last 5 years have been spent in 5th grade.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that creating a safe environment where there is a mutual trust and respect between students and teachers is the key element to a successful classroom. Beyond that I set high expectations, plan engaging and authentic activities, and incorporate digital and computer science activities to promote critical thinking.

I have a Bachelor's from the University of Florida and a Masters Degree in Elementary Education K-6 from George Mason University.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I live in Leesburg, Va with my husband Nick, our son Jake, and dog Lucy. We also foster dogs through a local rescue (adopt don't shop!) I am originally from Florida, where I attended the University of Florida. I am a huge Gators fan. GO GATORS!
