I have taught 5th grade for 22 years. I have been self contained and spent numerous years focusing my instructional skills in the area of Reading/Language Arts. I am now departmentalized and teach ELA and Social Studies.
I love a hands on approach to education. I use a variety of skills in my classroom. We work in small groups, pairs, and learn through discovery methods, games, and academic converstions with classroom peers.
I have been Teacher of the Year for my school two times during my tenure.
I have a Bachelor's of Science in Human Development from Lee University. I also have a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction: Reading from Grand Canyon University.
