Luminous Learning

Math is fun! Most recently, I was a fifth grade head teacher at The Churchill School, one of the premier schools for students with learning disabilities in New York City. Prior to my time at Churchill, I was a learning strategist at New Heights Academy Charter School in Washington Heights where I helped create curriculum and interventions to support 7th grade learners. I also taught special education at P.S. 89Q in Elmhurst, Queens where I employed various multi-sensory learning tools and strategies.

I earned my M.S. in Childhood/Middle School Learning Disabilities from Hunter College and my B.A. in Language and Mind from New York University.

I taught a number of courses as an adjunct lecturer at Hunter College, including Reading Methods, Math, Writing and Organizational Methods, and Learning Lab. In this role, I was able to serve as a resource to my graduate students by demonstrating a variety of academic interventions, providing an overview of learning disabilities, and discussing ways to differentiate for different learning styles. As an instructional advisor at the Relay Graduate School of Education, I evaluated teachers’ classroom instruction and provided targeted feedback for areas of improvement.
