TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a classroom teacher in Kindergarten, 2nd grade, and 4th grade (total of 8 years) and a K-5 reading specialist (total of 9 years). I've taught in public school and Catholic school. I'm getting ready to start a new journey as a K-3 reading specialist and 6th grade SS/ELA teacher! I am obsessed with keeping up with new best practices and the excitement of change!

MY TEACHING STYLE

Growth mindset is a constant in my room. I treat students as problem solvers and never ever just "give them the answer." I try to foster curiosity whenever possible and try to limit busy work to the barest minimum. I'm always assessing and changing my instruction accordingly. Most of all, I try to make each student feel like they're my favorite.
