TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching Theatre, English, Yearbook, and Film at Wilsonville High School in Wilsonville, Oregon since 2004. I am also co-chair of Theatre Department, and typically direct two mainstage shows a year (one musical and one play). Our troupe participates in annual Thespian competitions (Regionals & State).

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a fun, energetic teacher who tries to get the kids involved in whatever we are doing in class. I like to get students up on their feet and doing as many physical things as possible in the context of my classes.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Lots of nice feedback from former students about how I positively influenced their lives.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I attended Arizona State University and graduated from The University of Wisconsin in 1997 with a BA in Humanistic Studies. In 2002, I graduated from Western Washington University with an MA in Theatre Arts. I completed my teaching certification WWU, as well.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I live in Oregon with my creative wife, theatrical daughter, two dogs, four cats, and a partridge in a pear tree. Looking for creative and inspirational classroom posters? Please check out the Etsy shop I created with my wife, Christina Katz: https://www.etsy.com/shop/BlisscraftLife
