TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Welcome! I am a Treaty Partner. My goal is to Honour Indigenous Voices Everyday. Collectively working together to restore, renew and celebrate Canada's Indigenous People Breaking news... I am the new Facilitator of Reconciliation and Educational Wellness with the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board! I am so excited for this new position and the opportunities to learn and grow! I have 10 years of experience teaching grade K-8 in Canada in British Columbia and Ontario. I spent 3 years in BC, there, I was immersed in Indigenous Education. Spending time with Elders and Knowledge Keepers. I participated in many local workshops and traditional activities. I live, work and play in Ontario on the traditional territories The Mississaugas of the Credit First Nations (Anishinaabe) and the Six Nations of the Grand River (Haudenosaunee). I was born and raised here. I love this place! My goal is to share resources that support teachers in the classroom. Resources that support Indigenous Educational wellness and new Ontario curriculum. Some items maybe useful across Canada. Working together, learning together. I hope you find something that helps you here!

My best award is the appreciation from my students and families. I am also proud to have received an award in collaboration during my bachelor of education.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Educated in Ontario Canada. I have a speciality in Integration of Information and Computer Technology in Instruction. I have a speciality and passion for First Nations, Métis and Inuit Peoples: Understanding Traditional Teachings, Histories, Current Issues and Cultures. I love to knit, taught by my mother. This is also my speciality. Life long learner!

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I love my family! I am a fulltime single mother and enjoy every minute with my fantastic daughter, she is 14 years old. I love orange cats and knitting. Camping is my favourite, especially with my mom, daughter, dog and cat. I also enjoy cooking and gardening. I love my home and the place I live.
