Description
This is a full day of professional development for Educators, specially teachers but include all staff if possible. The focus is on Truth and Reconciliation. A great pre-learning leading up to Orange Shirt Day. Giving it meaning, connection and the power to change and renew.
Components of plan:
- planning committee members:
- Indigenous committee, select teachers, Principal and Vice Principal
- identification of audience
- K-8 Elementary School Staff
- purpose of sessions and workshops (overall to specific)
- Engage staff members in Indigenous Education, inspire and provide resources
- agenda including land acknowledgement
- Land Acknowledgement is embedded in the slide show. ***The Land Acknowledgement was written by my grade 4 student***
- communication log
- Simple, using post-its for exit tickets (records)
- templates including invitations, sign-up sheets, workshop/keynote evaluation/feedback
- Embedded in the lids show
- facility layout and workshop locations
- Learning Commons (library in school)
