TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Taught World Mythology, US History, World Geography, World History, Government, AVID and many professional development sessions for 26 years. I have taught in brick and mortar for 21 years and I have been in my virtual teaching position for 5 years.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My lessons are scaffolded, differentiated and flexible. I allow students opportunities to explore and experience history as well as time to create and evaluate it. I enjoy creating engaging materials and activities so that students can become immersed and excited with the content.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Earned my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on Gifted and Talented Programming Earned my Bachelors in Education, certified History 1-8 and 9-12. Taught 8th grade US History for 18 years. Developed curriculum for World Mythology Elective Course for my district, taught the course for 15 years. Taught Government and 11th US History for 2 years. Taught AVID and Gifted and Talented Pull Out Classes for 4 years. Taught World Geography and World History for 5 years - currently teaching World History and World Mythology. Wrote curriculum for Texas SBOE (2011) for 8th grade USH. Wrote curriculum for Keller ISD for GT Pull Out Classes, World Mythology Elective. Facilitated many Professional Developments on Thinking Maps, AVID strategies, Gifted and Talented Strategies, Differentiation and Social Studies content.
