TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Have taught 9-12 Social Studies in a small, rural high school in Illinois for the past 3 years. Classes taught include World History, American Government, 20th Century U.S. History, and Illinois History.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Very interactive and hands-on. Classes focus on discussions, critical thinking activities, and collaborative projects. I seek to keep students engaged by incorporating many different types of learning activities while keeping a positive, high-energy level.

-Received the Global Studies Intern Award for Meritorious Service while instructing a freshmen introductory college class. -University of Illinois Urbana Champaign Dean's List 5 semesters

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

-Graduated Pittsfield High School in Pittsfield, IL, in May 2006. -Attended the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign from 2006-2010. Graduated with a BA in History and a minor in Secondary Education in May 2010.
