TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is me in the front seat of a bus on the way to my wedding! Yes, I road to my own wedding on a shiny, new, yellow school bus! I started my work in the field of education working for a literacy-based non-profit in Washington, D.C. as an AmeriCorps VISTA. I then returned to my home state of Massachusetts and taught for nine years in a community outside of Boston. While there, I taught 7th grade Social Studies, led PD sessions for fellow staff members, served as the director of our summer program for a few years, and taught literacy classes for that program in other years. I now live in Connecticut and am a SAHM with my son. I continue to participate in education-related Webinars, read blogs, and communicate with teacher friends to stay a part of my former world. I hold licenses in Massachusetts and Connecticut and am certified to teach Social Studies/history and English as a Second Language, and as a principal/assistant principal for the middle level. I also earned two Masters degrees while teaching. Like most of you, I love this wild, ever-changing field of which we are all apart. I am enthusiastic, professional, and hold myself, my students, and my colleagues to a high standard! Each of the items in my store was developed, tested, and revised by me. I created each with care, keeping students and teachers in mind. Enjoy browsing my store!
