This activity is short and sweet. There are two levels for students to practice rhyming words. I used this in one of my centers. On the higher level, the student is given 2 rhyming words and has to fill in another word that rhymes with those 2.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my sixth year teaching. My first year I taught 3rd grade and the other five years have been in 2nd grade.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a very hands on person and I learn best by doing so I like to teach that way. I also love music and I believe it is a valuable teaching tool. My twin sister and I like to take familiar tunes and put lyrics to them to match the curriculum.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

My fourth year teaching I was named Teacher of the Year at my school.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I attended Union University in Jackson, Tennessee for my undergraduate degree in education. Since then, I have added on a licensure in teaching gifted and talented students.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have a wonderful mom and dad who still live near Nashville, Tennessee which was my stomping ground growing up. My older sister still lives in that area too. My twin sister and I moved to North Carolina straight out of college along with a very good friend to go into the teaching field. We figured it was a perfect state because it was close to the mountains and close to the beach. My twin sister teaches 5th grade and we bounce ideas off each other all the time.
