TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I spent many years in various classrooms with a variety of ages, the only constant was science. I started as a high school physics teacher before spending 10 years at the Smithsonian writing teacher materials for the National Air and Space Museum. Later our family was involved in a school start up and I wrote the science curriculum for grades K–8 there. I ended up teaching Middle School science and absolutely loved it! My materials are a compilation of everything I've learned along the way.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I'm definitely calmer now that I've been at it 30+ years! Love seeing students take charge of their own learning and am always working to foster that in my classroom.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Hmm, just showing up every day and seeing the shining faces of students who are excited and eager to investigate and find out about scientific phenomena.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I received a BS from Wheaton College, in Wheaton, IL

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I grew up in the Bahamas and spent time teaching overseas in Kenya.
