TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught special education resource between 1999 and 2021. In the fall of 2021 I made a change and am now in the general education classroom. I have experience working in a traditional pull-out only program, full inclusion program, a flexible program providing both pull-out and push-in instruction, co-teaching, and now 2nd grade. I taught a mentoring class for new special educators in my school district for two years.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I primarily use direct instruction techniques, but I do not restrict myself to this style of teaching. I am always looking to improve my skills and meet the very individualized needs of my students.

I received my Masters in Special Education from the University of Oregon in 1999. I added my general education credential in 2002. I am currently licensed to teach early childhood through 8th grade special education and elementary general education.
