TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Carrie has been in the public school setting full-time for 20 years. JD has just completed his 5th year in the private school setting.

MY TEACHING STYLE

We love teaching little ones. We both have a clear set of rules that our students follow, as well as laughing a lot! We use our own 2 children in teaching stories each and every day. At home we love to collaborate!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

We have served on several school committees including Curriculum Council, team leader, interview panels, and tech mentor. Carrie also is currently serving her 7th year as BTSA mentor to beginning teachers.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Carrie attended UC Davis for 4 years, with a major in Human Development. Her master's in Curriculum and Instruction is from USC and was trained by Sandra Kaplan in Depth and Complexity. JD graduated from UCLA in Political Science, then went back to school to complete his teaching credential program at National University.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

We have been married as long as Carrie has been teaching - 20 years. We have 2 wonderful boys who are both in the "double digits".
