TEACHING EXPERIENCE

For the past ten years, I have taught 7th and 8th grade English Language Arts in a semi-rural school district located in the Buffalo, NY area. Most recently, I have also had the opportunity to serve as an adjunct instructor in the School of Education at a nearby college. This has allowed me to share my experiences as an educator as well as keep my own teaching practices relevant and up-to-date.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I work hard to transform my classroom into a learning community. In addition to an emphasis on group work and peer learning, I also leverage online student management systems such as Edmodo to expand the learning community and encourage my students to be engaged beyond the physical classroom time. For the past two years, I have been upgrading my curriculum to reflect the rigor and expectations of the Common Core Learning Standards.
