My adventures in education began in a professional sense 27 years ago. Since then I have had the honor to learn along side students, teachers and administrators across North American. I have facilitated learning along the shoreline of the Finger Lakes in New York to classrooms in British Columbia and discussed what the future of education will be from Edmonton, Alberta, to Mobile Alabama. These varied experiences have taught me that educators not mater where they are are purveyors of hope, bringers of light, and advocates for children, I am proud to be among their number as I continue my adventure in education as School Library Media Specialist.
I believe that students (and teachers) learn best when doing the learning, and that the best learned lessons come from facing a challenge and overcoming it! I strive to create a learning environment where each persons voice is honored and they have space to tell their story while reading, dreaming about the future, discovering new ideas, and exploring the world.

I graduated from Houghton University (then Houghton College) and am in the process of completing a Masters of Instructional Technology at the Towson University. Beyond these formal experiences I have learned powerful lesson about empathy from my students, and learned important lessons about culture and humanity from traveling and meeting people where they are and taking time to hear their stories. These moments have made all the difference to me and how I approach life.
