I have taught for 30 years, mostly at the high school level but also in the middle school and some college level. I have taught math, physics, computer science, and gifted and talented classes. I have worked with students at all levels of ability including special education students and English language learners. I have presented several teacher workshops.
I believe in tailoring instruction to the students so I have always created many of my own materials. I believe in leading students through the material with step-by-step work and using questions to elicit understanding. I believe that students should explain and "teach" what they have learned for better understanding.
