Over the past 20+ years, I have taught in 5 different countries, within the IB and British National Curriculum. I have taught every year level at one stage or another. It became increasingly apparent to me that teaching well-being is where my heart lies. I have developed my expertise and honed my abilities over the past decade.
I always say, "Give me the content and grade level and I will be able to design the lesson." I consider myself a facilitator who strives to create experiences for children to think for themselves, discover, and have fun. The question at the heart of everything I do is: "What's best for the children?"
My well-being teaching experience comes from a range of personal growth courses along with MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction); ‘Mindfulness Matters’ and ‘PawsB’ (Mindfulness teaching programs); and a certificate in positive psychology.
My formative education years were spent between Germany and England as my Dad was in the army. After finishing school, I went to a teacher training college in Lincoln, England, to earn my honors degree. I consider my real education to be from 25+ years of teaching around the world. Not only with regards to becoming the best teacher I could be but also the best version of me, something I still strive for.
I love my dog. My first-ever pet. She is a constant reminder to stop and be present. I have recently taken up crochet which helps take me to a flow state. I'm very proud of finishing my first-ever jumper. I have also set up a WhatsApp group to crochet for charities, too. Blankets, beanies, and babywear. Additionally, I am learning Cantonese: which is not an easy feat when cold water and east tunnel sound the same!!
