I have taught second grade for the last ten years. I focus on working collaboratively with my colleagues to make our learning environment both engaging and fun. I believe that the classroom environment should facilitate student growth to help each student reach their full potential.
I understand the need to prepare all students for lifelong learning. The lessons I teach allow for the development of the whole child. I create a 21st century child-centered classroom that fosters collaboration, cooperation, communication, and critical thinking. I differentiate instruction to reach students of all abilities, and my lessons include a variety of methods to accommodate all learning styles. I incorporate the use of technology and engage my students in meaningful activities that embrace and build upon an ever changing world. I am devoted to teaching and strive to make learning meaningful and memorable every day.
