TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a dedicated, ambitious, and goal-driven educator with 7 years of experience in a 6th- 8th-grade setting and two years of experience in a PreK- 4th-grade setting. I have taught multiple subjects and enjoy creating challenging content for diverse age groups and diverse needs

MY TEACHING STYLE

“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing it is stupid.” - Albert Einstein As a teacher, leader, and mentor, it's my job to inspire, value, and provide opportunities for all students. Education is the most powerful tool for change there is. With a well-rounded education, someone can take on any problem. My job is to create, design, and facilitate an environment where learning and growth can occur. I believe inquiry is key to discovery; students must create and produce work to understand it truly. They need to be able to recall facts and skills, but more importantly, they need to use those skills in authentic ways strategically. Students must be engaged in the learning process and not simply passive observers. Students ARE the center of the classroom, and my teaching philosophy puts them in the driver's seat. They go on an adventure in my classroom filled with knowledge, empathy, leadership, arts, literature, and fundamental life skills.
