Description

Narrative Writing Workshops no longer have to be the bain of your existence! If you're anything like me, I struggled with HOW to get each student to write narratives when I began teaching. Now that I have it down, this writer's workshop allows me to review essential terms with my students, help them review the parts of a narrative, and prepare students for writing their own narratives with mind maps and checklists for each step in the writing process. It also allows me to work in small groups to analyze and examine exemplary records written to a specific prompt.

Even though these instructional resources are set to the prompt "Write a personal narrative demonstrating how you showed, attempted to show, or failed to show Courage when facing a challenge." I have made everything completely edible, and easy to quickly change the yellow highlighted sections. With a small amount of time, you'll be ready to implement this unit in as little as 10 minutes.

This resource includes:

  • 39 Slide Instructional Slide Deck
  • 12-Page Student Journal/ Notecatcher
  • Rubrics For Each Step
  • 2 Small Group Activities
  • One Vocabulary Quiz
  • Instructional Videos To Reinforce Concepts

Happy exploring, Teacher friends!
