I am a Social Studies teacher in New York. My supervisors and colleagues consider me to be a highly effective teacher who is hard working, dedicated and self-reflective. I firmly believe that establishing a strong rapport with my students, being an active member of the school community, and maintaining positive partnerships with families, are all essential to my student’s success. I plan differentiated lessons that align with the New York State Education Department Social Studies Standards, Common Core Learning Standards, and College, Career and Civic (C3) Frameworks. To promote the development of 21st century skills, I integrate a variety of technological applications, such as: Microsoft Programs, Prezi, Flocabulary and Brain Pop. Additionally, I create experiences that allow my students to make real world connections during their learning process. In order to inform future instruction, I employ a variety of formative and summative assessment tools. I pride myself on creating learning opportunities that reach students with disabilities, English Language Learners, and students from a variety of backgrounds. If hired, I will bring my dedication, knowledge, and enthusiasm to your school, and I will create a stimulating and rigorous learning environment for your students. As a student, I overcame adversity with the guidance and support of dedicated teachers; and my desire is to make the same impact on my students’ lives.
