Description

If you are looking for an engaging and exciting way to teach your students about Ancient Mesopotamia, then you have come to the right place! This lesson can be used as an excellent station activity, jigsaw activity, group work activity, independent activity, a reinforcement to topics on the subject or as a homework assignment.

  1. Worksheet comes with a do now activity, reading graphic organizer activity and an exit ticket.
  2. The do now includes a visual image of a statue of Hammurabi and students will complete a see, think, wonder chart about what they observe in the image.
  3. Students will then read about the topics of Geography, Religion and Government in a differentiated graphic organizer activity and answer guided questions. Students will learn about how the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers influenced culture, the purpose of Ziggurats as well as the importance of Hammurabi's code in society.
  4. The exit ticket will include short answer questions that relate to the lesson and include higher order thinking questions.

This lesson comes with an answer key.
