Dream Home Floor Plan Geometry Project - Distance Learning Capable!

This project-based learning activity provides the opportunity for students to create a floor plan of their dream home, and use their understanding of area, perimeter, and finance to calculate how much it will cost to build. Great for the Common Core mathematical practice of modeling in the classroom! Students research costs and realistic room sizes on the Internet and find flooring styles that fit their interests, and choose the type of location they want to build in to create the home of their

This resource has three sets of each section. The first set is appropriate for a gen ed, grade level math student. The second and third sets are differentiated for special ed students, students in RTI, or other struggling learners. The same content and TEKS are addressed in both sets. Some sections are left open for you to change as you see fit for each student. I know how hard it is to find resources that can be used in a heterogenous group of kids! We don’t write a lesson plan for each class,

3rd Grade Two-Dimensional Shapes Unit 2D (Autism / SPED / ELL / ESL)

These 3rd Grade Two-Dimensional Shapes Concepts (3.G.1 & 3.G.2) is a unit for understanding geometry by identifying share attributes of shapes, different types of quadrilaterals, partition shapes into parts and identify each part of a whole as a unit fraction. This unit is modified/adjusted to address these same concepts but focusing on using simplified and consistent academic language. I have used this 5 page assessment with my special education students in 2nd through 6th grade. The cons
