I use this project with my 8th graders as a requirement to pass the course. It is introduced in September and students complete all steps until they finally present their final product in the spring. It consists of an essay as well as a visual presentation which could be a PowerPoint or a Video Documentary. I count the essay as two test grades and the visual presentation as two test grades. Students usually enjoy this project and yield excellent results.
