A great music activity to focus and calm the students at the end of a long day.
This is both a focus activity and a music activity. Using a digitzed recording of Ravel’s luscious orchestral piece La Habanera, I’ve created a narration ( think “Peter and the Wolf”) that tells the story of Tree and all its wonderful friends - the bird, the butterfly, and the deer.
With your help, students create hand motions for each of the characters. It’s a wonderful activity to use at the end

OK. We got a little carried away with this song. I wrote it to use during an apple them, but on the CD it was kind of boring so we jazzed it up a bit with an electric guitar sound. It's a bit different, but a great song for the kids to act out going to an apple farm, picking the apples and eating the apples.

We had a unit about pets in my class one year. This is a short and simple song about a pet kitty, dog and fish. Have the children act like the animals for this song. Make up new verses for different pets like a lizard, rabbit, or a guinea pig. Have the children share stories about their pets.
