After engaging in the read aloud the Gingerbread Man, students have the opportunity to create their own Gingerbread person. A-Z Printable flash card templates. Can be adapted to suite different age and abilities. I planned this activity for 3-4 year olds and on the flash card templates i placed dots for them to connect in order to form both the capital and the lower case letter. This worksheet goes along with the Margaret Wise Brown book "Big Red Barn". Letters correspond with some of the animals and main ideas of the book. For example, "B" for barn, and "S" for sheep. Using stickers with lower case letters to match to the capital letters in the barn in one group and used the same capital letters but had students tell the letter sounds in another group.
