Writing Your Own Word Problems - Differentiated
This is for Promethean Whiteboards. This mini-lesson investigates the difference between multiplication and division looking at key words/actions in word problems. My class is split into three groups each with their own set of numbers. Students are asked to write their own word problems using a specific set of numbers. It also offers challenge numbers. Area Activboard Lesson
This whole group Activboard lesson can be used to introduce the concept of area. I use this lesson to introduce the concept of area at the beginning of my unit. This Activiboard lesson aligns with the Common Core. My kids love coming up to the Activboard during this lesson to show what they know about area.
