This is a quick, attention-grabbing activity to start a conversation with your students about plagiarism. I have taken song lyrics from Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars but renamed them as poems written by myself. You can edit it to say they were written by you.
I start the activity by excitedly telling the class I've been working on some poems I'd like to share with them. I display the poems on the board and emotionally read each one. Students applaud, not realizing I just stole someone else's word
