Hispanic Heritage Month: Color the Flag-Parts of Speech
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month without missing out on academic time. This activity can be a fun review for older kids (my third graders were always iffy on even/odd at the beginning of the year) or can be used in small group for a fun way to introduce the concept. Completed flags are also a great for decorating the classroom or a bulletin board. Parts of Speech Shootout
Parts of Speech Shootout is an activity in which students can practice identifying nouns, verbs, adverbs, and adjectives, while practicing shooting baskets. It is a language arts-PE integrated activity aimed at the 3rd grade student level. It may also be used as enrichment for younger students, and remediation for older students.
