Modeling Sunlight Around the World Using Trigonometry Functions

Created by
Kristen Clarke
This activity is best used as an investigation in an Algebra 2 or Pre-Calculus class after learning about key features of trigonometry functions. Students will use the sine functions provided to model the amount of daily sunlight received in New Jersey, Alaska, and Bogota, Columbia. Students will answer questions pertaining to the maximum and minimum values of different Sine functions, and then will extend their learning by predicting other countries that have different variations of sunlight.
