Unit 2 An Introduction to Matter and Energy
This is the second unit out of twenty units of a full year physical science course. The unit includes an introduction to matter, energy, and forces. In addition, there is an introduction to data collection and graphing collected data. Linear graphs, bar graphs, periodic functions, and pie charts are presented. Paleoclimates & Climate Change
This lesson was developed in collaboration with the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH). It has students investigate paleoclimate (ancient climate) weather and climate data from a variety of sources then has students draw their own conclusions based on what they and their peers observe.

Gummy Bear Scientific Method Lab
Students will be investigating the research question "What will happen to gummy bears if they are placed into four different solutions?” through hands-on laboratory procedures. They will develop their own hypothesis, record the material and procedures used, and analyze their data to draw their final conclusion.This project is meant to be a final project or summative assessment for a unit focusing on the Scientific Method process.
