Engage your students with this Matter and Its Interactions - States of Matter game! This set of 28 task cards will help your students learn about States of Matter and their Properties. This is a great alternative to worksheets while you are teaching the Science Standards. You can also use this resource in your Google™ Classroom. The students will circle the answer in the digital version. These task cards will help you teach your students the science concepts they need to know! This resource inc

Scientific Method Lab: Paper Airplane Model Design

This “Scientific Method Lab: Paper Airplane Design" was designed for my 5th grade class, but it can easily be used with any grade level. The Big Idea would be force and motion.Older students might even like to “tweak” the lab and design their own paper airplane models!Included are lab instructions following the scientific method, a data recording sheet, and the paper airplane foldables. The lab follows the scientific method, but it does not include a Review of Literature, an abstract, or a disp

3D printing is coming to your classroom! TinkerCAD is a free CAD resource that you can quickly use as a class or individual to produce simple objects for 3D printing!Teachers can set up a class in TinkerCAD to quickly import files, and students can export files to 3D print on the schools 3D printer or at a local library. This set of handouts covers the basic controls of TinkerCAD, as well as the advanced features and design methods for your advanced students. This set of handouts includes dual e

NGSS Grade 5 Measure Matter Physical and Chemical Changes 5-PS-1-2 Students measure and graph mass/weight in order to gather evidence to make a claim that regardless of the type of physical change that occurs, matter is not created or destroyed and mass/weight is conserved. Activity 1: Physical Change. Students measure and graph substances before and after a chemical change in a closed system to gather evidence to make a claim about the Law of Conservation of Matter/Mass. Activity 2: Chemical

This worksheet is designed to help students differentiate between qualitative and quantitative observations. There is a place to record the qualitative observations that students make using the five senses as well as a place to record the quantitative observations using more formal data. Students are also asked to record what tool was used to gather the quantitative data. This is a great activity for students first learning about scientific inquiry and practicing how to make observations and gat

Are students having trouble with the mathematics involved with Chemistry, Physics, or other science courses? Many students have shown up to my class lacking basic math skills that are required for science courses (multiplication, division, fractions, scientific notation, significance, etc.). This poster can hang in the room and hopefully be a reminder of those skills. The poster also makes and effort to address the mnemonic device/ shortcut of the teacher dreaded triangle math for things like d

Students are asked to determine the densities of different candies by measuring the mass and calculating the volume using geometry. This activity gets students to see the relationship mass and volume has to density. Students will practice carefully measuring, recording, organizing and analyzing data. Dimensional analysis of units is also employed.
