Child Development: Developmental Milestones In Children
From birth through six years of age, the child goes through physical, language, social, emotional and mental changes. Although no two children grow at the same rate, experts agree that there are normal signs of development. In this lecture we will explore the important milestones the child goes through during his/her development in the first five years of life. Simple checklists are provided that one can use to become aware of and appreciate the dramatic changes that are occurring in the child.

Theories of Language Development: For teachers
Over the years, philosophers have been interested in understanding how children acquire the ability to understand and produce language.Various theories have been proposed to this effect. In this chapter, a few theories of language development are presented. In addition, the implications of these theories for parents, caregivers, teachers and other adults involved with children are discussed.
