Mathew Brady Historical Photo Assignment
This activity allow students to view some of the breath-taking images created by "the father of photo-journalism", Mathew Brady. Brady captures 4 powerful images from the Civil War. This would be a good activity to introduce how photos can serve as primary source in US History. The activity fosters student discussion and critical thinking.

Reflective ART Writing Response
Use these slides to get your ART Students motivated to work your classes each day. I have my students spend 10 minutes looking at each slide and then responding to them about an observation or internal feelings. The first slides are examples with responses. This is to help engage deeper thoughts and get ideas going.

Making Art with Pencil Crayons: Philosophical Statement
Before you delve into any sort of lesson dealing with colour, perhaps you should take a look at this. I have done so much with pencil crayons. They are so easy to use, to manipulate for mixing new colours, without the mess at clean-up time, and they accomplish the same results, especially for the adolescent mind.
