Ape or Pig Blood for Human Transfusion? Reading and Questions
This awesome article from Genetic Literacy Project poses the idea of getting blood transfusions from apes or pigs. A great follow up activity after a mini unit on blood typing or ABO Blood Genetics/Punnett Squares. Also great for enrichment when entering the genetic/genetic engineering units. Human Body Systems: 3D Life-Sized Models Project
Students will work in groups to create 3D life-size head-torso models, to include 5 body systems. The students will research the systems, organs and their functions.
I created this project for 7th grade GT students to expose them to biology. Students were genuinely engaged and the end product was more than I could have asked for! The project does take time, but was well worth it.
