Seis: a dice race game reviewing subject pronouns (Spanish 1)
This is a fun yet simple way to review subject pronouns. Each student receives a worksheet, and each group of three or four students receives a dice and pencil. They take turns passing the dice, trying to roll a six. The first person to roll it yells "Seis," grabs the pencil, and begins filling in their worksheet. I created this bingo game while looking at previous STAAR tests and lists of “stem questions” for reading. I noticed many of my students (especially my ELLs) had trouble with terminology used on the test. I wanted a fun way for them to become more familiar with the test vocabulary.

In this lesson, students are divided into sharecroppers and tenant farmers. Each round, they have to choose a crop to plant which is dependent on market forces and the weather.
