Logic - Algebraic 2-Column Proofs

I use this activity to bridge the gap between an algebraic proof to a geometric proof. Generally, I model the steps to solving an Algebra 1 multi-step equation (i.e. 5x + 6 = 8x -12). Then I describe the properties of equality that allow me to progress through the problem to an answer. Then I rewrite the progression of the problem into a 2-column proof. Its an easy conversion. Provided is a form that gives space to solve three Algebra 1 problems with three blank 2-column proof forms. The

This bundle features 4 bingo games to review with your students 4 different units. They cover rational numbers, angles, circumference, area, and inequalities. I used them all right before my students take a test and they love them as a fun way to review. They are each sold separately and add up to over $10 but I'm putting it in a bundle for a cheaper deal.I have a total of 16 bingo cards in each excel spreadsheet. There are two per page that you need to cut along the middle. Each pair of student

Logic - Conditional Statements, Plus

I really enjoy this lesson. The objective is to have the students understand that the definitions they have been studying for years have a logical form that can be identified. Specifically, the students need to be able to identify the form of a conditional statement, the form of its converse, any counterexamples the converse may have and what constitutes a definition. I use 3x5 index cards as well as the Conditionals - Converse - Counterexamples Excel Spreadsheet included. There is a brief
