I've created this to go along with my writing units for when I do my weekly writing conferences with students! Easy to adapt for your own needs! When you print, all you have to do is set up custom breaks and adjust the dotted lines to go with the full week and ten student sections I set up. I created a sheet for each major writing section I teach (Narrative, Information/Research, Opinion, Fictional Narrative, and TDA) plus one last sheet that summarizes the year for the student. This is a rubric I created using the language from Northwest Regional Educational. It has the 6 traits, plus 1, in kid friendly language. Kids can sue this to self assess, and then the teacher can use it to grade the student's writing. The language is easy to understand for teachers, students and parents! The rubric is intended for grades 3 to 6.
