This is a science unit that I made to introduce Buoyancy to my first graders. The presentation includes: - What is buoyancy? - Intro. of molecules - Intro. of density - Links to ASL signs - Links to videos about buoyancy The student workbook consists of tables that they can fill out as they experiment with every-day objects to see if they sink or float. My kids loved doing this unit and we supplemented with other experiments like building foil boats and weighing them down with pennies.

This is a 2nd grade vocabulary test I made for my hearing impaired student. The first section is a list of words she had to sign, but a hearing student can simply read them aloud. The next section is set up to mirror a cloze procedure. Students choose the correct vocabulary word to place in the blank. Students use context clues and vocabulary knowledge to help them make the right choice. This test is made up of 18 questions.
