Calendar dates could be removed, if you like a more flexible approach.

December/Christmas/Winter Journal Writing Prompt Booklet

This is a 7 page booklet that features two journal entries on each page. The first is a title page, so there are 12 writing prompts. Each page has several lines for a student response, as well as a box to draw a picture of the journal entries. These half sheets are to be cut out and given to students one at a time. At the end of the month, just before break, I like to punch holes and bind the journals for students to keep as a momento. This is for levels 2-4, or for special education students

Each step on the plot chart has clear instructions for each part of the story. (Exposition, Rising Action, Climax, Falling Action, and Resolution) I let my students write notes of their plans all over these and their stories have stayed right on track once they began writing!
