This is a mini lesson on Lucille Fletcher's "The Hitchhiker." It includes a link to the text and two radio versions. One with Orson Welles and the other, a more modern. There is a link to an analysis chart so that students can analyze the effect that sound effects, music, dialogue and narration have on the listener and how they all build suspense. This is a great Halloween lesson and ghost story that can take up to two days.

It includes some assessments to go along with the Bend.
