"The Hitchhiker" mini lesson radio play and analysis chart
This is a mini lesson on Lucille Fletcher's "The Hitchhiker." It includes a link to the text and two radio versions. One with Orson Welles and the other, a more modern. There is a link to an analysis chart so that students can analyze the effect that sound effects, music, dialogue and narration have on the listener and how they all build suspense. This is a great Halloween lesson and ghost story that can take up to two days.

This Pear Deck Google Slides Presentation is a supplement to Calkins Historical Fiction Book Clubs. Students will analyze how characters in their novels respond to troublesome situations. There is a Google Doc quadrant included in the presentation for students to make a copy of and record their character's response as well as a place to include an analysis for them to use during their book club meetings.
