Preamble to the Constitution - Smart-board matching

This is a simple matching activity for my 7th grade Civics class on the Preamble to the Constitution. I import PowerPoint files into my Promethean board software as an "object." I ask my students to complete the matching in their notes and then call on a student to come up and draw a line from the key term to the correct definition. Kids love drawing on a smart-board!. This is a good warm-up / bell ringer activity. (Note I teach Civics in Florida where they take the E.O.C. - End-of-Course exam

This unit is for the Declaration of Independence. The goal of this unit is to identify complaints described in the Declaration of Independence, such as stationing soldiers in people’s homes, taxes, and cutting off trade with other countries. This allows the students to think about the complaints in chunks and gives the teacher feedback through the student assignment from each piece. This can be used for middle or high school. The final project can be modified.
