Engineer a Cargo Boat: Calculating Area Applied Math STEM Challenge
In this engineering design STEM challenge, students will use & apply science and math concepts to their cargo boat design. This project is a great way to introduce measuring with students of all ages. You can do basic measuring with K-1 with a ruler using inches and centimeters. Then increase the expectation with 2-6 using area and perimeter. If you want, you can even include volume depending on your students.
