Fractions on a Number Line
Whenever I teach fractions, I find that students have the most difficulty drawing accurate number lines...and they are expected to draw them over and over...and over again!
Here is a basic printable which includes nine number lines (one each for halves, thirds, fourths, fifths, sixths, sevenths, eighths, ninths, and tenths). Each number line is labeled from 0 to 1. Measurements are accurate so students can practice noticing patterns between unit fractions, equivalent fractions, etc.

Visualizing and Approximating Fractions on a Number Line

Simple number lines can be used to show work for adding and subtracting. Can be used for fractions. Students can fill in missing numbers. I keep a stack of these pages available for students to grab anytime during math time. You can also print these and put them in a dry erase sleeve, or laminate them to be used over and over.

Ruler Fractions: Helping Students See Fractions, Decimals, and Percent
This activity allows students to see the relationships between fractions, decimals, and percents. It accomplishes this by using a visual model and fractions of halves, fourths and eighths. These denominators are more understandable to beginning students. This eases them into the lesson. Then they progress to thirds, fifths, sixths, tenths, and twelfths later. Part whole concepts are presented concurrently as fractions, decimals, and percent representations.
