Sports, Bullying, and Education
This interdisciplinary packet is called Athletes Against Bullying. It's a series of scenarios about sportsmanship, sports, and bullying that require students to think, reflect on their choices and actions, and solve problems.
I found in my classroom that the students really enjoyed math or reading assignments when paired with something they were interested in. I had a student complain about reading all the time. I found a TPT basketball packet with reading and math problems, and he loved it.

I enjoy the use of these thinking maps for my students. It is a visual way to organize writing.
I start out with the CIRCLE MAP to brainstorm ideas related to a writing prompt. The topic is in the center of the circle and the brainstorm ideas are part of the outer circle. I tell my student to brainstorm the 5 W's (Who, did What, When, Where, and Why)
and at least three events.

Paragraph Template Vacation and General
This is a product that is three pages and stapled. One set of pages is for use when having students write a paragraph about their vacation. It guides them from visual, to guided written, to written. It helps them to understand paragraph writing has a process that leads to better written paragraphs. The other packet can be used for any topic or a free write for paragraphs. I find that the vacation write is a good way to introduce due to high level of interest when writing about vacations.
