Combine Like Terms & Distribute Lesson
This lesson includes a teacher slideshow, student notes, and a practice worksheet for students. Both distributive property and combining like terms are briefly defined before students are provided with a variety of examples where they need to distribute and then combine. A geometry connection of finding the area of shapes is also included! The practice activity has problems for students to complete and then find their answers in a "word search" format.

Combining Like Terms Notes
This resource includes a teacher slideshow and student notes introducing combining like terms. A real-life connection is made of ordering items at a fast food restaurant and how we group together the same items. Like terms are defined and practice examples are provided, including a connection to geometry with using combining like terms to find perimeter.

Visual Notes - Working with Powers (Exponent Laws)
Part scaffolded notes, part graphic organizer - this handout can be used as a tier 1 intervention to help reduce copying when students are creating notes. Learning and Using Algebraic Properties
