The Steps for Defining a Word Using Context Clues
Oftentimes when teaching context clues, we simply teach students to look at the sentence the word is contained in to figure out the definition. However, in my 17 years of teaching, I realized this method doesn't really help kiddos out. Thus, I decided to create a process that would effectively help kids come up with meanings without relying on the dictionary. I've been using this method in my classroom for a couple of years now, and it has really proved helpful.

Data Tracking Easier
Students can use these data trackers to track the progress that they make throughout the week. Each day students can complete a worksheet or assessment and color in how many questions they got correct out of 10. In math we normally work on a specific standard over a week. This way students can track their OWN progress over that time period to see how they have improved!
