Guided Reading Lesson using book The Thank You Dish
In this guided reading and writing lesson students will do a pre-reading activity, predict while reading and apply new knowledge from the story to a writing activity. In the story The Thank You Dish, a mother and daughter sit down to dinner and start giving thanks to all the ways the meal came to be. This story is wonderful for deepening students’ understanding of gratitude in its theme and it is useful for teaching predicting strategies in its structure.
