sight words
Here's a great way to help motivate your kids to practice and learn those sight words!
Add one card at a time to their sight word rings and have them color or place a sticker next to each word they master. When they master all of the words on the card, they can keep all of the stickers.
Goes perfectly with my sight word flashcards and program, but can be used with any word list, since it is editable.
Included:
Sticker cards for Fry Words 1-200, in groups of 25 (back-to-back)

I am a TA for an autistic, non-verbal child with limited fine motor skills. She can't or won't use sign language. I developed this program of picture words for communication. I cut the individual pictures into cards and laminated them. The student will point to or pick up the appropriate card so that her wants and needs are known. The pictures are simple and bright, as she is also visually impaired. She picked up the idea right away since the symbols make sense. I believe that this form of com

I have been trying to find a social story on tummy ache for quite a while now with no success. Gastroenterological problems are apparently very common in kids with autism. The main reason for these is mostly stress.
I have written a story on how a child can deal with their tummy ache while they are at school. The document includes such advice as talking to an adult (teacher / teaching assistant), getting a drink and having a toilet break.
